I really like the way you have added the before and after pictures to really highlight what you are talking about. The difference between the two is really noticeable. The lush green on the before photo is not even anywhere to be seen in the after photo. This is a real shame. I agree that they should restrict people from going to see this ancient site in Peru. If they keep allowing people to just walk all over it, it will no longer be here for the people of this country to cherish. I do wonder if a viewing point would be an option. Where they could only get to a certain site and look from there. This would stop people trampling all over the whole site.
I really do hope that the Peru Government take action soon about this and don't leave it til it is too late.
I would like to visit here one day, would you? So I hope they preserve it.
What a shame for the area! I agree that access should be limited to certain areas as it would be great to have this tourist spot for the future generations to enjoy, too. I also agree that it would be horrible not having Te Papa Museum in NZ. It showcases such wonderful NZ history and in such an interactive, enthralling way. Yes, it does look a bit scary going so close to the edge and I am a bit wimpy with heights so I would have to stay away from the edges! Maybe you could add more photos of this area, more close-up photos of the village to your post?
