Maths DLO - Estimations

WALT: Use algorithms to solve additive problems
with whole numbers and make sensible estimates
and use a calculator efficiently.

I found this task kind of fun because we had to
explain 1 thing we learn't this week. I would
give this activity a 6/10

Maths DLO - Maths Create [Wed and Thu]

WALT: Use and explain a range of mental strategies for solving
addition and subtraction problems.
I liked doing this strategy to work out problems. I didn't like doing
the doubles strategy, because it was tricky to solve the problems using it.

Maths Refection | Term 2

Maths Reflection

This year we have been learning lots of different types of maths. We have been learning, measurement, angles, area, perimeter, and statistics.  My favourite type of maths was statistics. I like statistics because there are lots of different types of graphs. We also learnt area and perimeter. We learnt how to work out the area and perimeter of basic shapes, then we learnt how to work out how to find out the area and perimeter of shapes with 6 sides and triangles. Mrs Gully told T4 (The class) a little poem to help us with area and perimeter for a triangle. It was, ‘Half the base times the height’. It really helped me. These were a few of my favourite maths we learnt this term.
Check out my blog to see lots of DLO's I  have done this term.

Fractions

This term we have been learning about fractions.  For this activity we had to choose a fraction and then show our fraction in different ways.

I found this task challenging but this made me think especially when I got to the number line because Mrs Prendergast said we didn't have to write the right numbers. This tricked me.

My next learning step for fractions is to do this independently and also to solve word problems that use this knowledge.

Adding and Subtracting using place value

I found this activity easy because you can use the equipment and it was just easy to work out.

Place Value Problem Solving

WALT: Write place value problems for others to solve

Can you guess my number? Write your number in the comments below.
I found this activity fun and interesting because we have been doing this the other way, bye doing the riddle. I was cool for a change.
