Haiku Poem

Haiku Poem

Task: A short poem that uses our senses,
often written about nature. You will need to
be observant and think about what you see,
hear, feel, smell and taste.

School is shut for now
Home is where I have to be
I’m online learning

Sleeping in is great
I get to draw all day long
Helping Mum with meals

Can’t go past the gate
Not allowed to see my friends
Except on Snapchat

  1. Hi Millah

How are you doing during this Level 4 lockdown? I hope that you are doing some fun things during this time.

This is a great poem that you have created about being at home. It is a strange feeling being at home all the time. As much as I like being at home it is just weird that you just can't leave when you want to!
Think of all of the books that you will be able to read during this time for Kid Lit! It will be great ! I am looking forward to getting back to school so I can start some training with all the teams!
I look forward to reading some of your work over the next few weeks. Don't forget to check out the Totara site for some fun things to do! The biscuit recipe looks good!

    Talk again soon

    Mrs Costello :)

  2. Hi there Millah, my name is Abby and I am a year 8 student at Yaldhurst Model School.

I really like you haiku. It covers lots of things that you have to do or have been doing for fun.

This is my favourite style of poem to write with. What is yours?

Next time you could explain what a haiku is or make a picture to go with the poem.

Is there anything you have learnt at home?

    Kind regards,
    Abby.

  3. Konnichiwa Millah, I'm Amelia from Yaldhurst Model School.

I liked the way you described the lockdown and mentioned some things you had been doing.

This reminds me of when I made an acrostic poem about warrior cats. Acrostic poems are just so simple to create!

To improve, you could add an image that fits the topic, maybe you stuck at home or helping your mum with meals.

What is your favourite thing to do at home?
Is there anything you have learnt at home that you couldn't of at school?

Cya later Millah, keep it up!
